Describe yourself as a maker/artist/creative
I am a mixed media artist living in Baltimore city. My artwork is mixed with fabrics, plasters, paints and love, all things textured. I work in series.
What are you currently working on?
About 300 things! LOL. In an effort to make a solidified body of work where each category of my approaches and styles of painting are full and abundant in content. I work to show the pieces together, I'm always looking for places to show my bodies of work. I am chipping away at the ‘Artstar Collection’, ‘Heavy Metals’ and ‘Amorphous Abstracts'.
Has your work shifted in response to the pandemic? How?
YES! I have found more time to be in my studio, to be introspective and quite within and open a channel. Thanks to having additional time and not leaving all my energy ‘on the field’ like I do when I am running to and from within the frequency I had been.
In your opinion, what role does the creative process play in helping us confront our “new” reality?
It is vital for me to not listen to news, to zone into the colors or texture I’m working with. Being present instead of future frustration and with all the anxiety that burns. Creating is an art to making everything beautiful.
